Chicken of the Sea ‐ Search Engine Optimization

Making waves with SEO

Brief

In 2022, most of Chicken of the Sea’s web traffic came from paid search. They turned to Active Ingredients to change that—boosting organic search visibility, increasing awareness and consideration of their core products, and reinforcing their reputation as a trusted brand. Our challenge? Drive sustainable organic growth and build a stronger, more balanced traffic mix.

Dramatic organic growth

In just one year, organic search traffic surged by 44% on chickenofthesea.com, now accounting for a third of total traffic. This growth, alongside increases in direct and organic social traffic, created a far more balanced traffic mix. Even with reduced Paid Search spend, total site sessions still grew by 7%.

A data-driven SEO strategy

We built our strategy on data, leveraging a range of tools to analyze the search landscape and identify high-impact opportunities. Using our proprietary Keyword Planner and top AI-powered platforms, we evaluated hundreds of non-branded keywords — prioritizing them based on strategic relevance, business goals, search intent, volume, and competition.
